The following introduces information of Academician Gao Fu’s achievements:
Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Foreign Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States, Academician of the American Academy of Medical Sciences, Foreign Academician of the Royal Society of the United Kingdom, Academician of the German National Academy of Sciences, Foreign Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, etc. He is currently the Director of the Academic Committee of the Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Director of the Key Laboratory of Pathogenic Microbiology and Immunology, Chairman of the Chinese Society for Bioengineering, and Vice President of the Chinese Medical Association. He has served as Deputy Director of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Director of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Dean of the School of Medicine, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Director of the Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He participated heavily in the discovery of the novel coronavirus and is a pioneer in developing the world’s first clinically approved novel coronavirus-neutralizing antibody drug and the first approved novel coronavirus recombinant protein subunit vaccine. He is mainly engaged in research on the cross-host transmission of pathogenic microorganisms, infection mechanisms, host cell immunity, antiviral measures, public health policies, and global health strategies.
